Internet advertising grew more than by a third in Estonia in 2008

According to TNS Emor, the Internet advertising turnover gained 36% in Estonia in the first six months compared to the same period last year. The percentage of papers and television declined 7% and 1% respectively, Äripäev supplement Marketing TOP writes.
Newspapers' and other news channels’ online version are among the most visited Internet pages in Estonia far ahead from other information sources.
Director general of Estonian daily Postimees, Erik Roose, does not believe that the current generation might see disappearance of the newspapers. However, the print-runs will decrease and this will happen on the account of online.
A head of TV3, Toomas Vara, sees no threat of the Internet advertising to the television advertising. "Television is still mass media, no Internet campaign can reach such number of contacts as television," he said.
