Estonian concert organizer: we will organise concerts in Riga

Print versionPeeter Rebane, the chairman of BDG that organized concerts of many world-famous rock stars in Estonia, said that due to the increase in value-added tax (VAT) rate on concerts, BDG is going to organise concerts in Latvia in 2009, the Baltic Business Channel reported.

"Unfortunately the Estonian government has made a very stupid decision on taxing tourism, medicine and culture in an already difficult time," Rebane stated at REM concert press conference.
"BDG will plan most of its concerts in Riga next year, where the VAT is 0% and the government continues to support entrepreunership. But not everything is bad – Latvians will enjoy future Estonian concert tourists," Rebane said.
