Sales of medicines in Estonia grew to 48.1 mln euros in Q3

The market volume of medicines meant for using on humans in the third quarter of 2011 amounted to 48.1 million euros in wholesale prices, writes LETA/Postimees Online.

In comparison to the third quarter of 2010, sales had grown by 7.7%, reported the State Agency of Medicines.

 

In the third quarter, the pharmaceutical wholesale companies issued medicines to general pharmacies for 35.4 million euros, to hospital pharmacies for 12.1 million euros and to other institutions (mostly State and research institutions) for the total amount of 0.6 million euros.

 

The market volume in veterinary medicines in Estonia in the third quarter of 2011 amounted to 2.3 million euros in wholesale prices – by 10% less than in the third quarter of 2010.
