Furniture import down 27.9% in H1

In the first half of 2011, LVL 9.875 million worth of furniture was imported to Latvia, which is 27.9 percent less than in the corresponding period last year, according to data from the Agriculture Ministry's Forest Resource Department.
In the first half-year, furniture import constituted 6.8 percent of the total value of timber import.
Latvia's main furniture import partners were Italy with 17 percent (LVL 1.675 million worth of furniture) of total furniture import, Poland with 16.3 percent (LVL 1.61 million), and China with 15.9 percent (LVL 1.57 million).
As reported, last year, Latvian furniture import reached LVL 26.99 million, LETA reported.
