Finnish consumers state that Atria minced meat, Facer bread and Paulig coffee sold in Estonian stores are several times cheaper, but at the same time only recipes and producer brands are the same. The price level of raw materials used in producing the goods in Finland and in Estonia and sometimes also the level of quality are incomparable.
Managing director of Paulig Pekka Pirinen explained that ‘Presidentti’ coffee sold in Finland is made of slightly different raw materials.
The prices are also very much different due to the positioning of the products – ‘Presidentti’ is in Finland Paulig’s premium-quality product and it is rarely sold with discount prices. In Estonia the similar level product is ‘Classic’ while ‘President’ sold in Estonia complies with ‘Juhla Mokka’ product in Finland in terms of price level.
