Estonian State Forest Centre managed to boost profits in H1

The sales revenue generated by the State Forest Management Centre in the first half of the year 2010 amounted to 763 million kroons, writes LETA/National Broadcasting. The net profits earned amounted to 111 million kroons.

The enterprise predicts that the profits earned during the entire 2010 will be 210 million kroons.

 

In comparison to the first half of 2009, the sales revenue generated by the State Forest Management Centre has grown by 31%. The profits have even grown by 85% in the year-on-year comparison.

 

The enterprise announced that 98% of the sales revenue was generated from selling timber and forestry materials.

 

In the first six months of 2010, the centre sold by a fifth more than in the same period of time last year, earning 750 million kroons in revenue.

 

With the supplementary budget adopted in April, the centre estimates to be able to generate 1.7 billion kroons in sales revenue and earn 210 million kroons in profits. The State forest cutting and sales volumes are planned to be increased to the record high amount of 2.8 million solid cubic metres.

 

The State Forest Management Centre is a State agency aspiring to making a profit. The principal task of the centre is to sustainably and efficiently manage the State forests. The State Forest Management Centre administers 38% of Estonian forests.
