Latvian Botanical Garden to buy natural gas from Estonia
EG Energija spokeswoman Kristine Bambe said that the agreement amount was EUR 96,800 (VAT inclusive).
Altogether five companies from Latvia and Lithuania bid for the natural gas supply contract, and EG Energija won the tender because it had offered the lowest price.
The contract will be valid from October 1, 2018, to September 30, 2019. The Latvian National Botanical Garden expects to purchase over 260,000 normal cubic meters of gas during the agreement period.
EG Energija entered the Latvian natural gas market at the end of last year. It currently supplies natural gas to more than 200 companies in Latvia, providing about 3 percent of total natural gas consumption in the country, but plans to take 20 percent of the Latvian market in the next few years.
