Lembergs becomes Ventspils mayor again

Print versionThe city council of the northwestern Latvian city Ventspils today re-elected Aivars Lembergs (For Latvia and Ventspils) as the port city's mayor again, writes LETA/BNS.

Lembergs was re-elected to the mayoral office by nine votes to four.
As reported, the recent local elections in Ventspils were won by Lembergs' For Latvia and Ventspils party, which secured nine out of 13 seats on the city council, or as many as in the previous elections.
The remaining seats went to an electoral bloc of three political parties, the National Alliance, Unity and the Latvian Association of Regions, led by Girts Valdis Kristovskis (Unity).
