Estonia's biggest recycling organization, the non-profit MTU Eesti Pakendiringlus, is to sell its assets to OU Egekilde Invest, a company owned by waste management and packaging companies, reports LETA.

The NGO's present leader Aivo Kangus told that the main reason for selling the enterprise is the wish to keep its position on a competitive market. According to Kangus, Eesti Pakendiringlus holds 48% of the market.

According to Kangus, one of Estonia's biggest recycling companies, Ragn-Sells, is among the owners of the main competitors Eesti Taaskasutusorganisatsioon MTU and Tootjavastutusorganisatsioon OU. "Since we don't have stakeholders that are recycling companies, we attracted new stakeholders to even the playing field," he said.
