The recently appointed director of the Estonian president's office, Tiit Riisalo, will for the time being continue work on the supervisory board of Estonian Railways, informs LETA/BNS.

Riisalo was appointed to the supervisory board of the state-owned railway company at the proposal of the finance minister, a member of the junior coalition partner Pro Patria and Res Publica Union (IRL).

"As a good specialist in the field of railway and transport, Tiit Riisalo will for the time being continue work on the supervisory board of Estonian Railways," told Finance Minister Sven Sester.

Sester said he had agreed with Riisalo that if it turned out his workload in the new job prevented him from making the necessary contribution on the board he would vacate his seat and Sester would appoint a new member in his stead.

Riisalo was a member of IRL until Oct. 10 but quit the party after being appointed head of the president's office. He is a former secretary general of the party.
