Revenues of Estonian Health Insurance Fund grew by 7%, expenditures by 11% in Q1

Print versionReceipts of the Estonian Health Insurance Fund in the first three months of the year 2016 totaled 244.7 million euros, 7% more than in the same period last year, and operating costs increased by 11% to 282.4 million euros, informs LETA/BNS.

The fund financed healthcare services during the three-month period in the total amount of 201.1 million euros, 12.6 million euros more than planned.
Medication was financed for nearly 34 million euros and benefits paid out for temporary incapacity for work totaled 39.6 million euros.
Financing of healthcare services grew 9% on year or by 17 million euros in the first quarter.
Financing of family doctors amounted to 25 million euros.
