Compared with 2013, funding for children's healthcare services n Latvia has grown by EUR 6 million, reaching almost EUR 86 million, reports LETA, according to information by the National Health Service.

The Service's representative Mara Abolina said that last year, the state spent almost EUR 86 million for both inpatient and outpatient children's healthcare services.

Last year, the state also covered medication costs for children in the amount of EUR 8 million, while in 2013 – EUR 6.7 million.

The National Health Service says that this is due to changes in regulations regarding state compensated drugs. As of 2014, patients under the age of 18 are eligible for receiving full drug coverage from the state.
