Turnover of Latvian companies operating in lodging industry grows by 14.27% since 2011

The average turnover of Latvian companies in the lodging industry has grown by 14.27% since 2011, according to information provided by Lursoft, cites LETA/Nozare.lv.

2013 was a successful year for companies operating in the lodging industry. The Central Statistical Bureau's data indicates that in 2013, a total of 1.8 million tourists stayed in Latvian hotels and other accommodation establishments, which is 11.8% more than in 2012. The average number of overnight stays in Latvian hotels increased by 6.4% last year.

 

Lursoft data show that the turnover of companies operating in the lodging industry was growing for the past few years, while their losses tend to reduce with every passing year.


According to Lursoft data, companies' average turnover in the lodging industry was EUR 29,971 in 2013.

 

The average turnover dynamics has been constantly growing, and faster than the average company turnover in the national economy, for the past several years. For example, in 2011 the industry's turnover per company was 5.5% higher than in the entire country on average, while in 2012 and 2013 it was 11.96% and 12.74% higher respectively.
