First IKEA store in Baltics to open in Lithuania today

Print versionThe first IKEA store in the Baltic countries will open in Vilnius today, reported LETA/ELTA.

The Ikea store, located near the Vilnius Airport, was built in less than a year. The store's total area is approximately 26,000 square meters, and it has a parking lot for 1,000 automobiles.
The store will employ 240 people and sell everything for home furnishing, from small interior design objects, tableware and appliances to kitchen cabinets and other furniture. Part of the furniture that will be sold at the IKEA in Vilnius is produced in Lithuania.
Customers who wish to have the furniture they buy to be assembled and taken to their home will have to pay from LTL 59 (EUR 17)) in Vilnius to LTL 449 (EUR 130) if they live in Latvia.
The store will also have a children's playground, a Swedish cuisine restaurant, and much more.
