Real estate purchases in Latvia increased by 15.3% in January-May

Compared to the respective period in 2012, the number of real estate purchase transactions increased 15.3% in Latvia in the first five months of 2013, according to the analysis of the Land Register's data by the real estate company Latio, informs LETA/Nozare.lv.

Housing transactions grew 14.3%, including 20% increase in the number of apartment sales and 0.7% in private home sales.

 

In comparison with the first five months of 2012, the number of apartment purchases in Riga grew 14.9% in the first five months of 2013, the number of transactions involving private homes – 28.4%.

 

The number of apartment transactions in Riga is significantly larger than the number of transactions involving private homes. 3,500 apartment purchases were registered in Riga in January-May 2013, comprising 90% of all housing transactions in the city.
