May 2013 was the most active month at the Estonian apartment market since the economic recession as 1,184 ownerships transactions were carried out with flats in 17 larger Estonian cities, LETA/Postimees Online reports.

In April, 1,170 deals were concluded and in May last year 934 were concluded, said Pindi Real Estate.

The Pindi Index increased by 3.5% in May as the weighted average price of a square meter of flats in the 17 bigger Estonian cities and towns was 959 EUR. The revised April figure was 927 EUR per square metre.

The price index compiled by Pindi Kinnisvara takes into account the weighted average price of a square metre of purchase and sale contracts where the objects are flat ownerships in all county centres as well as in the cities of Kohtla-Järve and Narva.
