Kalev earns 618,000 euros in profit in 2011

Print versionThe growth of sales volumes and market share boosted the sales revenue of Estonian confectionery company AS Kalev by 11% and the company earned a profit of 618,000 euros in 2011, LETA/Public Broadcasting reports.

In 2010, Kalev made a loss of 5.8 million euros but the company said that it was caused by discounting trademarks.
Kalev's turnover grew in 2011 by nearly 11% to 28.8 milion euros. The company sold 5,000 tonnes of sweets, by 425 tonnes more than in 2010.
54% of the sales were candy and 33% chocolate bars.
89% of Kalev's production was sold in Estonia and the rest was exported.
