Over 23,000 new businesses established in Estonia in 2018

Altogether 23,294 new businesses and self-employed persons were established in Estonia in 2018, which is 6 percent more than during 2017, it appears from data available from the Center of Registers and Information Systems, reporting LETA/BNS.

The number of such entities established during 2017 was 21,947.


In a breakdown by month, the number of new incorporated entities established was the biggest in January -- 2,169.


The number of incorporated entities that went bankrupt in 2017 was 153, whereas in 2018, the figure was 105.


Incorporated entities are public limited companies, private limited companies, commercial associations, general partnerships, limited partnerships and self-employed persons.
