Estonia: PRFoods, Tallinna Lihatoostus to develop joint offshore fish farm

Print versionSaaremere Kala AS, a subsidiary of the listed fish products seller PRFoods, and meatpacker OU Tallinna Lihatoostus have concluded a letter of intent for establishing a joint undertaking to set up a joint offshore fish farm, reports LETA/BNS.

OU Tallinna Lihatoostus belongs to AS Direct Consulting, the subsidiary of which is AS Hiiu Kalur. AS Hiiu Kalur is an Estonian fishing company founded in 1991, which has a share in seven fish processing plants and is one of the biggest fishing companies in Estonia. The same group also operates the ports of Veere and Lehtma and Suursadam, PRFoods told the stock exchange.
The idea of establishing a joint venture lies in uniting the long-term experience related to fishing and fish processing of AS Direct Consulting and wide fish-farming experience of AS PRFoods group for setting up and subsequent environment-friendly operation of a modern joint offshore fish-farming, it stands in the announcement.
