Dechatlon mulls expansion to Riga, Tallinn after opening store in Vilnius

BC, Vilnius, 23.11.2018.Print version
French sports and leisure goods chain Dechatlon is opening its first Baltic store in Vilnius on Saturday and is already thinking about expanding to major cities in Lithuania and later opening stores in Riga and Tallinn, reported LETA/BNS.

The chain plans to decide on its expansion in Lithuania over the next two months, a representative of Decathlon Lietuva says.

"If the store proves successful over the next few months, and we'll get good feedback from customers, we definitely plan opening stores in Kaunas and Klaipeda, and Riga and Tallin would be the next step. We'll decide on the second store over the next few months, but it's most likely to be in 2019," Benita Guillaume, a project leader at Decathlon Lietuva, told.

Situated near the IKEA store, the Dechatlon store in Vilnius has been built in seven months. The company does not disclose the value of its investment.

A Decathlon e-store operates in Lithuania since 2017.
