Beer production in Latvia grows 31% y-o-y in Q1

Print version In the first quarter of this year, 20.14 miln liters of beer were produced in Latvia, which is a growth by 31.05% compared to the same period last year, according to the information about excise goods prepared by the Latvian State Revenue Service writes LETA.

In January-March this year, 18.7 mln liters of beer were imported to Latvia, which is by 10.38% more than in the first three months of 2016.
Overall, 30.038 mln liters of beer were distributed for consumption in Latvia, which was by 2.79% more than the first quarter of 2016.
Latvia's beer exports increased 3.8 times in the first quarter of 2017 to 6.952 million liters from 1.829 mln liters in January-March 2016.
As reported, a total of 73.95 mln liters of beer were produced in Latvia in 2016, which was a 13.66% reduction from 2015. Last year Latvia imported 86.93 mln liters of beer, up 10.66% from 2015.
