Transferwise to open Asian head office in Singapore

Print versionTransferwise, the U.K. money transfer and foreign currency payments company that has its development unit in Tallinn, is to open an Asian head office in Singapore, reports LETA/BNS.

The Singapore office will be the head office of Asia and the Pacific region to support the company's aims to expand and grow its team in the region. Transferwise has a total of 650 employees in nine offices across the world, including in Sydney and Tokyo in the region in question, the company reported.
Transferwise is also one of the first companies to be granted the right to use online identification to open an account and conduct transactions by the Monetary Authority of Singapore. This will allow customers to make transfers from Singapore to other countries using Transferwise.
Transferwise mediates over a billion euros' worth of transfers a month.
