BC, Vilnius, 22.02.2017.Print version
Sweden's Ikea group currently owns 38,000 hectares of forest in the three Baltic states, which is a rise by 52% from what the group announced last September, Verslo Zinios business daily said citing LETA/BNS.

Ikea currently owns 6,000 hectares of forest in Lithuania, which it may have paid about EUR 22 mln for.

According to the Lithuanian daily, Ikea bought the 6,000 hectares in Lithuania, just like in the rest of the Baltic states and Romania, from a Stockholm-registered property management company GreenGold.

Data provided by IRI Forest Management SRL company, part of the Ikea group, suggests that the Swedish furniture group has 22,000 hectares of forest in Estonia and 10,000 hectares in Latvia.
