Sales of Apollo bookstores grow 0.6% to EUR 14.3 mln in 2015

Sales revenue of Apollo Holding, owner of Apollo bookstores in Estonia, grew 0.6% to 14.3 mln euros and net profit almost quadrupled to 982,807 euros last year, reports LETA/BNS.

The company's operating profit at the same time decreased to 11,177 euros from the year-earlier 223,883 euros. Other financial revenues increased from 45,096 euros to 1 mln euros, it appears from the annual report.


Retail sales of books declined 4.8% to 8.9 mln euros, sales of music and video recordings grew 1.4 % to 1.6 mln euros, sales of newspapers and stationery increased 6.6% to 1.7 mln euros, and sales of toys and games totaled 1.3 mln euros, marking an increase of 21.2%.


The company's inventory totaled 1.5 mln euros at the end of the year like a year earlier, and advance payments stood at 2.4 mln euros. Rodl & Partner Audit OU who audited the company said the auditors did not obtain sufficient evidence on which to base an opinion.


The number of employees grew from 136 to 163 and wage costs rose from 1.1 mln to 1.3 mln euros.


Apollo has six stores in Tallinn, two stores in both Tartu and Parnu, and one store in Rakvere, Viljandi, Haapsalu and Kohtla-Jarve each.


Apollo Holding is 50% owned through Artabanos Holding by Margus Linnamae's investment company UP Invest which also owns BNS Group. The other half belongs to Toomas Kruus through Sandbach OU.
