Estonian public broadcaster ERR's Radio Theater made history Saturday night when its entry to the television, radio and online media festival Prix Europa 2016, the radio drama "Things" by Andres Noormets, was selected Best European Radio Fiction, reports LETA/BNS.
The winner's trophy, the bronze sculpture Taurus, was
presented by Willi Steul, the
director of Germany's first radio station to produce radio plays
Deutschlandradio, ERR said.
"With an exquisite text, note-perfect performances, and
a crystal-clear soundscape this drama allows us to escape - even for a little
while - from the pressure of materialism," the jury said.
"Things" was directed by its author Andres
Noormets, with Kulli Tuli as sound director and Tambet Tuisk as the main
character.
