Fish stocks to continue to be replenished in Latvian waters in the coming years

In order to replenish fish stocks, over 6.02 million fish fry per year will be released in Latvian waters throughout the country the next four years, including lakes, rivers, reservoirs and in the Baltic Sea, LETA was informed by the Agriculture Ministry.

The fish fry which will be released include zander, pike, grayling, brook trout, trout, ide and also lamprey.


The Ministry points out that over 33 million fish fry have been released in Latvian waters the past five years with the aim of replenishing fish stocks.
