Latvian Foreign Ministry asks residents to seriously consider travel to Turkey

In wake of Friday's coup attempt, the Foreign Ministry strongly recommends residents to seriously consider whether or not to travel to Turkey.

The ministry points out that the Latvian Embassy in Turkey is currently working on high alert status, however, the situation on the ground in the country has stabilized.


The ministry also recommends those in Turkey not to venture out in the streets without necessity and remain indoors whenever possible.


Flights between Riga and Turkey are back on schedule after they were cancelled yesterday in wake of the coup attempt in the country, LETA was informed by Riga International Airport.

Flights between Riga and Istanbul, as well as flights to other resort cities are back on schedule.
