Strombergs wins bronze at BMX World Championships in Colombia

Print versionLatvia’s BMX racer, two-time Olympic gold medalist, Maris Strombergs on May 28th won bronze at the BMX World Championships, informs LETA.

Two of Latvian athletes won place in the elite group – Strombergs and Kristens Krigers, who took the sixth and ninth positions in during qualification race.
In the superfinals Strombergs finished third, and Krigers remained in the 14th position.
Niek Kimmann of the Netherlands won the first position, and Sam Willoughby of Australia arrived second.
