Bronze medal for Ikauniece-Admidina at world athletics outdoors

Latvian track and field star Laura Ikauniece-Admidina earned a hard-fought bronze medal in the heptathlon event at the 2015 World Track and Field Championships in Beijing, China on August 23rd, reports LETA.

Ikauniece-Admidina had a total of 6516 points after the seven disciplines, but the winner – the UK's Jessica Ennis-Hill, scored 6669 points.

Before that, no Latvian athlete has won a bronze medal in track and field heptathlon.
