In 2015, the Estonian Government will support 190 young farmers, who wish to take up agricultural business, writes LETA/Delfi.

This year's grants, in the total amount of 7.5 million euros will be paid from the Estonian Rural Life Development Plan 2007-2013 funds.

Minister of Rural Life Urmas Kruuse signed the decree which provided for the terms and conditions for paying start-up grants to young agricultural producers in 2015.

“From this year's budget, we will be able to support at least 190 new young entrepreneurs who are taking up business in the field of agriculture,” said Head of Rural Life Development Department Marko Gorban. “The age structure in the agricultural sector is an important challenge, and therefore it is necessary to help young people with agricultural experience and education to start their businesses in this sector,” he added.
