Maxima Grupe turns over EUR 2.583 bln in 2014

The Lithuanian Maxima Grupe consolidated turnover in 2014 reached EUR 2.583 billion without value added tax (VAT), which is 2.5% more than in 2013. The largest increase in turnover was recorded in Poland, while turnover in Latvia rose only 0.1%, the company's Director-General Neringa Janaviciute informed LETA.

The company opened 17 new stores in the Baltic States, Poland, and Bulgaria in 2014, while 31 were renovated. The company invested almost EUR 56 million in expansion and maintenance of its chain stores.

 

"The majority of countries demonstrate a moderate, but stable market growth. Last year, we focused on increasing the company's competitive capacity and improving its operations in each country – supply, logistics, product management, and workplace safety," Janaviciute said.

 

She went on to say that the steepest growth in 2014 was registered in Poland and Lithuania. Aldik store chain in Poland turned over EUR 37.7 million, which is a 21.6% increase, as compared with 2013. Two new Aldik stores were opened in Warsaw last year. The chain will be further expanded in the near future.

 

Compared with results in the Baltic States, the largest growth for three consecutive years was registered in Estonia, where the total Maxima Eesti turnover exceeded EUR 401 million – 5.2% more than in 2013.

 

Meanwhile, Maxima Latvija turnover in 2014 reached EUR 660 million, VAT not included, which is only a 0.1% increase, as compared with 2013.

 

In Lithuania, Maxima LT turnover totaled EUR 1.417 billion – 2.5% more than in 2013.
