Estonian ice cream and frozen food products brand Premia's unaudited consolidated sales in the Baltic countries in 2014 amounted to 50.2 million euros, surpassing for the first time in the history of the company's 50 million euros limit, LETA/Delfi reports.

Last year, the company's turnover grew by 4.3%, or 2.1 million euros, an increase occurred in all markets.

The company's turnover grew most in Latvia, by 8.4 percent; in Estonia, the sales rose by 3.9% and in Lithuania 0.8%. By segments accounted, 52% of total turnover was last year formed by frozen goods, the turnover of which increased by 7.2% compared to the previous period.

"The summer was exceptional – over the three summer months, we were able to see both snow and air temperatures staying over 30 degrees, but in spite of the hectic weather, ice-cream lovers in all markets received our new products very well and it was also the key to success in 2014," said Nordic Foods Holding Board Member Katre Kõvask.

She said that frozen goods segment showed a nice growth in the past year, particularly in Latvia.

Premia Foods sold its Baltic ice cream and frozen goods operations to Nordic Foods Holding OÜ in November last year, after which the stock-exchange listed company was renamed AS PRFoods and the ice cream and frozen goods company continues to use the Premia trademark.
