Pukite pointed out that, according to various European studies, Riga excels at excellent food quality and reasonable prices. Moreover, the city also offers unique Latvian products and cuisine, writes LETA.
Pukite explained that the Riga Restaurant Week is only the first step in making the city more popular among gourmands.
"Our long-term goal is to attract those tourists who make restaurant reservations a year in advance and travel around to the world to become familiar with local cuisines," said Pukite.
26 restaurants, divided into three groups, will offer three-course meals for less than ten, 15 or 20 lats.
The Riga Restaurant Week is organized in cooperation with Delice, the Network of Good Food Cities Worldwide.
