The exhibition in the Latvian pavilion at the 57th Venice Art Biennale, created by artist Mikelis Fisers, has drawn a record-high number of spectators, with some 230,000 people having visited the pavilion from May 11 to November, Marta Krivade, a representative of the Latvian exhibition, told LETA.

According to the information provided by Krivade, this is the highest attendance figure achieved by Latvian artists at the Venice Biennale yet.

The Latvian pavilion has also been highly acclaimed by international art critics. Just days after its unveiling, the Latvian pavilion was included in the Top-10 of The Upcoming culture portal. The Calvert Journal, a London-based online guide to the contemporary culture of Eastern Europe, the Balkans, Russia and Central Asia, included Fishers’ work in the list of 11 most striking pavilions at the 57th Venice Biennale.

The 57th Venice Art Biennale, which opened on May 13, took place until November 26.
