The Estonian Tax and Customs Board collected 463.2 million euros of taxes in October 2014, which is an increase of 6.3% as compared to the same time last year, LETA/Public Broadcasting reports.

In the first ten months, 83% of the tax revenue plan of the whole year was fulfilled as 4.54 billion euros has been collected, finance ministry said.

The best-performing tax in ten months has been heavy vehicle tax (99.8%) of the annual plan and the worst performing one packaging excise tax (34.1%). The first is paid once quarter and the last payment of the year was in October. The cause for low packaging excise tax collection was a court decision that obliged the Tax Board to return paid tax.

Income tax collection grew by 9.5%, social tax by 8%, corporate income tax by 39.1%, excise tax by 7.5%.
