Estonian state budget collects 72% annual revenue in 9 months

According to the Estonian Ministry of Finance, the Estonian state budget collected revenue of 5.73 billion euros in the first nine months of the year 2014, which is 71.5% of the total amount planned in the budget for the year, LETA/Public Broadcasting reports.

The expenditures reached 5.58 billion euros, 68.1% of the annual plan.

 

The state budget collected in nine months 4.91 billion euros of tax revenue, 74.2% of the annual plan. Non-tax revenue formed 0.81 billion euros, 58.1% of the annual plan.

 

The biggest revenue sources were the social tax revenue of 1.67 billion euros (74.2% of annual plan) and VAT of 1.27 million euros or 75.7% of the annual plan.

 

The biggest spending articles were main social welfare benefits amounting to a total of 2.4 billion euros.

 

The government sector budgetary position had a 45 million euros (0.23% of GDP) surplus at the end of August. At the same time last year the deficit was 54 million euros or 0.29% of forecast GDP.
