Estonian state budget collects 22.9% annual revenue in Q1

According to the Ministry of Finance, the Estonian state budget collected revenue of 1.84 billion euros in the first three months of the year 2014, which is 22.9% of the total amount planned in the budget for the year, LETA/Postimees Online reports.

The expenditures reached 1.89 billion euros, 23.2% of the annual plan. As compared to a year ago, both the income and expenditures grew by 12%.

 

The state budget collected in three months 1.54 billion euros of tax revenue, 23.3% of the annual plan. Non-tax revenue formed 311.8 million euros, 22.4% of the annual plan.

 

The biggest revenue sources were the social tax revenue of 545 million euros (24.3% of annual plan) and VAT of 402.6 million euros or 24.1% of the annual plan.

 

The biggest spending articles were main social welfare benefits amounting to a total of 761 million euros or 23.5% of the annual plan.

 

The government sector budgetary position was by 97.8 million euros (0.5% of GHDP) in deficit at the end of February. At the same time last year the deficit was 138.2 million euros or 0.75% of forecast GDP.
