Estonia’s State budget revenue shortfall has increased by nearly 10% in October 2008 y-o-y

Despite the fact that in absolute figures, the revenue collected in the State budget of Estonia has grown, in comparison to the planned amounts the State budget shortfall in October 2008 is by 8.1 percentage points greater than in 2007, writes EPL Online/LETA.

According to the Ministry of Finance, by the end of October, the State budget revenue amounted to 70.8 billion kroons – 78.6% of the amounts planned in the State budget and in the supplementary budget.

 

Last year during the same period of time, the State budget revenue amounted to 65.8 billion kroons – i.e. 86.7% of all revenue planned in the State budget.

 

The Ministry of Finance commented that last year’s report on ten first months of the year did not take into account the data from the positive supplementary budget. After the relevant adjustment with additional spending and revenue, the revenue amounted to 81.1% of all revenue planned for the entire year, thus exceeding this year’s revenue by 3%.

 

Press spokesperson of the ministry Piret Seeman stated that the current revenue schedule is on schedule with the outlook compiled in August.

 

The budget spending amounted to 70.7 billion kroons as of the end of October – this is 74.3% of the amounts planned in the State budget and in the supplementary budget.

 

 As of the end of October, the State budget revenue exceeded spending by 99.9 million kroons.
