Danuta Pavilenene, BC, Vilnius, 05.07.2012.Print version
At the end of June 2012, official reserve assets amounted to LTL 18.9 billion (EUR 5.5 billion). In June, they increased by LTL 308.5 million (EUR 89.5 million) or 1.7%, the Statistics Department of the Bank of Lithuania said.

The growth of official reserve assets in June was driven by an increase of LTL 256.8 million (EUR 74.4 million) in deposits of other MFIs with the Bank of Lithuania, a rise of LTL 206 million (EUR 58 million) in currency in circulation and a hike of LTL 51 million (EUR 14.8 million) in external liabilities of the Bank of Lithuania, writes LETA/ELTA.

The slower growth of official reserve assets was determined by a fall of LTL 151.5 million (EUR 44 million) in central government deposits with the Bank of Lithuania and a negative change of other factors and the value of Special Drawing Rights of LTL 51.4 million (EUR 15 million) and LTL 2.3 million (EUR 0.6 million), respectively.
