In March Lithuanian current account deficit made EUR 237.4 mln

Print versionIn March 2012, the current account deficit (CAD) increased by LTL 15.5 million (EUR 4.5 million) month on month to LTL 820 million (EUR 237.4 million) (a year ago, in March 2011, the current account surplus of LTL 159 million (EUR 46 million) was recorded), the Bank of Lithuania reports.

This CAD increase was determined by a larger outflow of investment income. A positive figure (LTL 877.1 million (EUR 254 million) on the balance of the financial account of the balance of payments in March 2012 has formed as a result of an increase in foreign direct investment (FDI) and a decline in official reserve assets, writes LETA/ELTA.
