Latvian Revenue Service collected 17.5% more than projected in taxes in January

The State Revenue Service (SRS) collected LVL 390.29 million in taxes in January 2012, which is 17.5% or LVL 58.03 million less than planned, according to information available on SRS' homepage.

SRS planned to collect LVL 332.26 million in taxes in January, writes LETA.

 

State budget revenue in January exceeded the projected figure by 23.9% or LVL 41.39 million, amounting to LVL 214.59 million. However, the figure does not include revenue from natural resources and personal income taxes.

 

Value-added tax (VAT) revenue reached LVL 115.19 million, which is 16.6% or LVL 16.39 million more than expected.

 

LVL 42.29 million was collected in excise tax in January, 3.6% or LVL 1.57 million less than projected.

 

Revenue from corporate income tax fell short of the planned figure by 0.6% or LVL 92,300 and reached LVL 15.21 million.

 

Tax on gambling netted LVL 1.12 million to the state budget, which is 7.2% or LVL 75,500 more than expected.

 

Car and motorcycle tax revenue exceeded the plan by 38.7% or LVL 118,900 and reached LVL 425,900 in January, and customs tax revenue was 12.2% or LVL 200,600 more than anticipated – LVL 1.84 million altogether.
