Individuals paying for goods and services in euros abroad, however, will have to pay the commercial exchange rate until the beginning of next year.
The Banking Association issued a statement, noting that as kroons can be exchanged into euros during a rather long time and there will be no deadline for such transactions in the Bank of Estonia, people should not rush such transactions.
Exchanging kroons into euros without service fees and at the official exchange rate will be available to individuals in each bank office providing cash services from December 1, 2010 until June 30, 2011.
