The State Social Insurance Agency received the State Revenue Service's information on 30,000 pensioners by the mid-August, who had retired already in July but nevertheless had their pensions slashed 70%, as the Social Insurance Agency's press secretary Edite Olupe informed LETA.

These pensioners have already had their pensions recalculated in accordance with the latest data from the Revenue Service, Olupe said.

Part of these pensioners has been repaid the withheld pensions already in July and the first half of August, and the rest will be repaid the amounts withheld by the end of August.

The Social Insurance Agency reminds that working retirees had their pensions reduced 70% from July 1, as part of amendments to the law on the payment of pensions and benefits from 2009 to 2012.

The pensions for unemployed pensioners were reduced 10%.
