"I hope and am relatively confidence that the Government of Estonia will reach a position in which it will be able to comply with the criteria for the accession to the euro in two or three years," said Juncker in Luxembourg on Wednesday, after meeting with his Estonian colleague Andrus Ansip.
Ansip, however, estimated that the objective to adopt the euro in 2011 is a realistic one, stating that Estonia will be able to fulfil the low inflation rate criteria this autumn. He said that the Government will continue fight against the State budget deficit. "We are prepared for several negative supplementary budget and know that we are on the right track," remarked the Estonian head of Government.
