Lithuania's budget was EUR 169.3 mln above target in H1

Lithuania's central government and local authorities collected a total of 4.097 billion euros in budget revenue during the first half of this year, exceeding the revenue target for the period by 169.3 million euros, or 4.3%, reported BNS/LETA, according to the Finance Ministry.

The central government's budget revenue for January through June came in at 3.274 billion euros, which is 2.8% above the projected level.

 

Revenue from taxes totaled at 2.991 billion euros, 1.4% more than planned. The value-added tax (VAT) contributed the most to the national budget, bringing 1.658 billion euros into the state's coffers, 2.7% above the target, while excise tax revenue totaled 643.4 million euros, some 1.3% above the estimate.

 

Revenue from the corporate income tax, at 388.4 million euros, fell 6% short of the target.

 

The personal income tax generated a total of 798.8 million euros in central government and municipal budget revenue, some 7.7% more than planned.

 

This year's central government budget projects 6.386 billion euros in annual revenue not including EU funds and 8.487 billion euros including EU funds.
