The Bank of Latvia plans to start selling its collector coins on the Internet, Bank of Latvia Governor Ilmars Rimsevics said in an interview to Latvian Radio today, writes LETA.

LETA was told at the Latvian central bank that in order to make collector coins available to as many buyers as possible, the Bank of Latvia is selling them through several channels, including at the Bank of Latvia’s offices in Riga and Liepaja, they can be pre-ordered on the Internet or bought through Latvian or foreign numismatic coin dealers.

“We are constantly following people’s comments about our work and developing new sales forms. This year, we will create a platform for selling coins online, which will make buying coins even more convenient,” said Bank of Latvia spokesman Janis Silakalns.

He added that the coin pre-ordering system was created after the central bank received requests to make collector coins available also to buyers outside Riga and Liepaja.

The Bank of Latvia launched its coin pre-ordering system in December 2015.
