External assets of Bank of Lithuania increased 148.9 mln litas in March

External assets of the Bank of Lithuania increased by 148.9 million litas in March of 2009 and totaled 14.7 billion litas at the end of the month, the Bank of Lithuania reported. External liabilities of the Lithuanian central bank went down by 41.5 million litas to 62.8 million litas.

Currency in circulation dropped down by 666.6 million litas to 8.3 billion litas at the end of the month. Resident deposits with the Bank of Lithuania increased by 1.1 billion litas to 4.8 billion litas, writes ELTA.

 

Central government deposits went up by 1.2 billion litas to 2.1 billion litas at the end of the moth, while deposits of other monetary financial institutions decreased by 32.3 million litas and made up 2.7 billion litas at the end of March. The capital and reserves shrank by 198 million litas to 1.8 billion litas at the end of the month.

 

Changes in the balance sheet items of the Bank of Lithuania have been disclosed, taking into account transactions, i.e. by eliminating the effect of revaluation adjustments of prices and foreign exchange rates as well as other reclassifications.
