Swedbank Latvia board chairman Maris Mancinskis is leaving the job and Swedbank Group to pursue his career at an international company outside Latvia, Swedbank told LETA.

Mancinskis, who has been working as Swedbank CEO for seven years, will be succeeded by the current Swedbank board member Reinis Rubenis after his candidacy is approved by the European Central Bank.

Mancinskis joined Swedbank seventeen years ago, originally working in investment banking. He went on to work in various executive positions at Swedbank Group, including as the head of Swedbank Russia.

Mancinskis said that both he and the bank had to move on, and that he had every confidence in Reinis Rubenis as the next CEO of Swedbank Latvia.

Rubenis has been working in finance for nineteen years, including nine years as a member of Swedbank team. He is a member of Nasdax OMC Riga council and Latvian Central Depository council.
