SEB ranks 1st among Lithuanian banks by assets, loans, Swedbank leads in deposits

SEB Bankas in late 2015 was the number-one bank in Lithuania by assets and loans and Swedbank led the market in terms of deposits, consolidated figures from the central Bank of Lithuania showed on March 8th, cites LETA/BNS.

SEB Bankas had assets worth 6.865 billion euros at the end of December, accounting for 29.3% of the total banking assets, followed closely by Swedbank in second place with 6.668 billion euros and a 28.4% market share.

 

DNB Bankas ranked third with assets worth 3.91 billion euros and a 16.7% market share, followed by Siauliu Bankas in fourth place with 1.668 billion euros and 7.1%.

 

Lithuanian banks' total assets amounted to 19.759 billion euros, or 84.3% of the banking system's assets, and foreign bank branches' assets, to 3.678 billion euros, or 15.7%.

 

SEB Bankas' portfolio of loans and advances totaled 4.875 billion euros, giving it a 30.7% market share. Swedbank held a 25.3% market share with 4.02 billion euros.

 

Further down the list were DNB Bankas with a loan portfolio of 2.9 billion euros and an 18.3% market share, and Siauliu Bankas with 916.714 million euros and 5.8%.

 

Swedbank had the largest deposit portfolio, at 5.399 billion euros, giving it a 32% market share. SEB Bankas followed in second place with 4.77 billion euros, or 28.2% of the market.

 

DNB Bankas held a 13.9% share of the total deposit market with 2.344 billion euros. Siauliu Bankas' deposit portfolio stood at 1.454 billion euros, or 8.6%.

 

Six commercial banks and seven foreign bank branches operate in Lithuania.
