Estonian life insurance market grows in H1

The number of life insurance contracts concluded in Estonia in the first half of this year increased by 8% as compared to the same period of 2014, LETA/Delfi Ärileht reports.

According to the Financial Supervision Authority data, by the end of June, 220,321 life insurance contracts had been concluded in Estonia. At the end of June last year, the corresponding number was 204,175.

 

Life insurance companies collected during the first half of 2015, 2% more in insurance payments, compared to the same period last year.

 

The amount of insurance payments collected was the highest in the first half of the year for Swedbank Life Insurance – 17 million, which has the biggest, 41% market share in Estonia. It was followed by SEB Life and Pension Insurance with market share of 23% and premiums volume of 10 million euros. The third largest was Compensa Life Vienna Insurance, with premiums volume of 8 million euros, with a market share of 19% in Estonia.
